Here it is the end of April already. I've been doing this journal type thingy for 4 months now. It is still not everything that I wanted, and its not updated as often as I wanted (didn't I make that sound like it is someone else's fault?), but it is still a work in progress. At least I don't have a pathetic "site under construction" graphic. I do have some self-respect.
My Mets are in last place. You remember the Mets? The National League champions last year? Played in the World Series? Hmmm, I thought so. Well they suck so far this year. They can't hit; they're in a complete slump. Oh, and their starting pitching is horrible. The Mets' bullpen have a pretty good bullpen and very good defense is great. Sounds like the perfect package for last place. Of course, I know that it is only 4 weeks into the season, so I'm not in too much of a panic yet.
On a baseball side note, my company is taking a number of people to a Yankee game this year. I have mixed feelings about this. I root against the Yankees all the time. This anti-Yankee sentiment was passed on to me by my parents. Our family moved to St. Louis in 1964 and my parents jumped on the Cardinal bandwagon and never looked back in their Yankee hatred. One of my very good friends is the granddaughter of Eddie Popowski who's been with the Red Sox for the past 62 years, so you can imagine how easy it was to continue my Yankee hating with her. On the other hand, I have never been to Yankee stadium. Personal feelings aside, it is Yankee Stadium - the house that Ruth built. Even though I've been indoctrinating my son with my Met-lovin', Yankee-hatin' propaganda, how cool would it be to have Jake's first game be at Yankee Stadium?
One of the books I got from my $50 gift certificate was another HTML reference book. So now I'm all fired up to try some new things here. So get ready to find all kinds of broken links and missing graphics. Its gonna be embarassing, I'm sure.
Holy Crap, I was watching the Mets and they were tied 1-1 in the 5th inning. I watched a little Whose Line is it Anyway? (the Great Britain version) and came back to see the Mets winning 7-1. Ok, the Astros just scored another run to go to 7-2, but still they might actually win this one.
