The weather forcast for today is a possible 6 to 12 inches of snow. In April.
As I was dropping Bobby and Annabel off at their daycare Claudine called me and told me that she was being discharged this morning. She can't wait to get out of there. I waited with Jake at his bus stop until he gets picked up and then off I went to the hospital. Just as I got to the hospital the first flakes started to fall. Claudine had to go through the whole discharge process but it actually went pretty smoothly. She just couldn't wait to get out of there and back in her own house. Claudine was moving pretty well, if not slowly. I tried to get her as comfortable as possible and to get her anything that she needed to be comfortable . Just as I was trying to get back to my actual, you know, work I got the call telling me that Jake's school wa being dismissed early. Ack! But Jake is pretty self sufficent so I thought I could get some work done after setting him up with some snacks and the remote control to the T.V. But about a half an hour after Jake's bus came, I got a call from Annabel's teacher at daycare. Annie has junk "coming out of her eye and you have to come and pick her up". Arrrrggggh! So back out into the snow I went to pick up Annie and Bobby. Annie was showing symptoms of having a cold, and unfortunately ever time she has a bad cold, gunk flows out of her eyes. I agree that it looks like one symptom of Pink Eye, but I knew that she didn't have Pink Eye and didn't need to be picked up. I know I sound heartless wanting to keep my sick kid at daycare but she wasn't upset or anything. She was happy and having fun when I walked into her room at her school.
But the bottom line was that everyone came home within four hours and I got no work done. Whaa, whaa, whaa.... listen to me complain. But hey, it's my journal, damnit!
