This is our shed.

You can see that it is a piece of crap. A rusted, shell of its former self. We never saw its former self. It was like this when we moved in. I'm sure that it was a perfectly servicable shed in its day. But now that eagle on the front just mocks me, daring me to take the shed down. It has become such an eyesore. Moreso after a heavy storm last year blew a tree right through the roof. It didn't just blow the tree onto the shed. The tree was right behind the shed and when the wind came it broke the tree off in the middle and the top half fell straight down and the jagged broken part pierced the roof of the shed. When the tree guys came last week, they cut and removed the tree from the shed setting up the battle between me and the shed. The tree guys also said something else interesting. Even though we didn't use the shed, they said that it was still covered by our home owners insurance. So we took pictures of the shed and tree and will submit them to the insurance company. Maybe we can get a little something towards the new shed.
So the day rose sunny and warm... the winds calm. The peacefulness of the morning a sharp contrast to the noisy battle yet to come that day. I awoke feeling a bit apprehensive... I could feel the pure hatred eminating from the hulking hunk of rust in the backyard. I selected my tools of destruction.
I approached the beast and hefted my sledge. I took a mighty swing. A loud BANG pealed through the neighborhood. Flocks of birds rose in fright. Small woodland creatures went underground to escape the violence beginning in the great outdoors. And a tiny dent appeared on the shed. Hmmm, this is going to be harder than I thought. I slammed my shoulder into the side of the shed to test the strength of the building. Ouch. This thing is pretty sturdy. It was time for the pickax. Another mighty swing. Whoops. All I did was pierce an inch wide hole in the sheet metal. But the shed stood tall. Ok.. Time to get medival on this thing. BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG. Five small dents on the side of the shed.
The battle seemed to be all set to heat up for round two, when I looked over the fence at my neighbors yard. People were just starting to come around the back of their house for a pool party. So abruptly, the battle is put on hold.
