The first thing that Claudine asked me this morning was "how was that reunion party?" And the first thing I replied was "K was there." And she gave me an "oh, really? along with a raised eyebrow. And so I told her how everything went down. That's all. Sorry if you all were expecting something juicy.
I felt kind of weird all day. I really wanted to e-mail her right away but I didn't because 1) I didn't want to appear pathetic. I know I am pathetic about this, but I didn't want to appear pathetic and 2) she gave me her work e-mail and who wants to walk in the their office on Monday morning and see something from their first love from 25 years ago? I mean, besides me, that is.
So we kind of just hung around on Sunday. We did go up to Claudine's mom's house at Lake Hopatcong for a couple of hours so the kids could play in their new inflatable pool "complex". Really, this thing needs like its own zip code. It's a two level inflatable pool that has attachments for basketball, volleyball and all sort of other stuff that I didn't recognize. But my kids, being their usual contrary selves, wanted to play in the sprinkler.
And then we just went back home and kind of laid around the rest of the day. The house was still relatively clean from the party the day before so we just kind of sat back and enjoyed it. We ordered some Chinese food for dinner. I packed a bag from my pile of unfolded-but-clean laundry because I have to go to Rhode Island tomorrow. There is nothing like a mindless day sometimes.
