Yesterday was a whole bunch of boring. Just kid-watching. Not that I don't think that my kids aren't wonderful. But it certainly isn't interesting to you.
Roll Call reports that Gary Condit's aides got big raises. Seems that Condit started paying big money to his secretary and two of his staffers right after the whole Chandra Levy thing first went down. The two members of the Condit staff are suddenly making salaries that near the $145,000 Congressional limit for staffers. His secretary is made $16,511 for the 3 months before the Levy scandal. After the story broke, she made $34,749 for the next 3 months. These three members of Condit's staff have been the most visible in his defense. It could be money to buy their silence. But the story also raises the good points that it could A) be money to handle their own impending legal bills or B) to give them some savings because their are certainly out of a job come next election. And because of their association with Condit, they may not be the most employable people in the future.
Been catching up on movies lately. Tivo, Netflix, and HBO On Demand have been very helpful in that regard. Recently seen are: O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Being John Malkovich, and Bedazzled (the remake), and History of the World, Part I.
I'm currently in the middle of High Fidelity and Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Waiting on TiVo or fresh from Netflix: Bedazzled (the original), Ocean's Eleven (the original), Magnolia, and The Soprano's First Season. I don't know why I took all that time to add the imdb.com links. It's not like you'll really click on them just because I have seen/am watching/will see these movies. But it's the internet and you're supposed to do things like that.
Our house is a mess. Three kids (one that requires breast feeding or a bottle every two to three hours) and weird work schedules make for a messy house. It happened with Jake, it happened with Bobby, we'll get through this one too.
The Mets are just sucking right now. Now I'm depressed. Bye.
