Jake and I went out to Shea Stadium tonight to see the New York Mets play the Minnesota Twins. This was Jake's second Major Leauge baseball game. Last summer, my bosses took a bunch of us and our families out to Yankee Stadium one Saturday afternoon. But that was the Yankees. Jake got bored pretty quickly watching the Yankees. Tonight, Jake got into game. As you can see from some of these pictures.
The wacky Queens cops directed me out a different way out of the parking lot. I made a wrong turn and instead of heading for the George Washington Bridge, we ended up going south and had to hit the Midtown Tunnel. Crossing Manhattan wasn't too bad except for the B'way shows letting out.
(l. to r.) Unidentified Twins player, Met coach Mookie Wilson and Mike Piazza. I don't know how all those 'Mike Piazza is gay' rumors started...
This was the view from our seats. They were pretty good. That's all
Jake drawing on his pad before the game
Steve Phillips, Mets General Manager. He kept walking back and forth in front of our seats. The Met offices aren't near our seats so I don't know what he was up to.
