Memorial Day

Go On, Go Home

Send Me Love

Well here is entry number one of the great Alan Ellis journal writing experience. I'm hoping that this strict, albeit self-imposed, regimen will train me to be more efficient in my writing. Part of my problem with these entries is that they sometimes become these huge, rambling epics that take up huge amounts of time that I don't have. Especially now with a new baby. So I want to be able to sit down, spew out my thought(s) in a concise and meaningful way, upload and be done with it. We shall see.

Memorial Day was quiet for us. Annabel still isn't that mobile yet because she's still clamoring for the boob every 2 to 3 hours. Claudine would prefer to stay home than have to yank her boobs out all the time. But that's fine really. We got a lot of work done. I started getting the pool in shape. I pulled the inner pool fence out of the garage and set it up around the pool. Thanks to my good idea of numbering the sections, it went up with no problem. Then I cleaned and removed the pool cover. I let it dry in the sun while I put the filter and skimmer parts together and got the system pumping again. Then I vacuumed all the scum up from the bottom. Our pool cover is one of those porous, safety covers. Which means a whole bunch of crap filters down through the cover and collects on the bottom of the pool. After vacuuming, I can almost see the bottom in the deep end. When the filter has been running for about 48 hours, I'll take a water sample over to our pool place and let them tell what chemicals I need to add this year. And then I'll hand them my wallet and let them empty my checking account.
